We set out on a journey about 6 years ago to find a more natural and sustainable way of life for us and our kids. Part of that journey involved an eight month backpacking trip around Europe with our two kids where we stayed and worked on some small farms. It was a great experience and gave us an idea of what we wanted to do.
It took a while after we got back to find the right land to start putting some of our plans into practice, but in 2016, we found it here in Rose Creek.
We now have a total of 4 human kids and lots of feathered and furry residents. We have Purebred and American Nubian dairy goats and have kids for sale each spring. We raise dual purpose chickens for meat and eggs as well as silkie chickens who make great broody mommas. We have Muscovy ducks for meat and eggs. Currently we are raising Champagne D'Argent rabbits for pets, meat, and show. Three dogs keep our animals safe at night and our cats help patrol the barn for rodents. We also have two small heritage breed pigs.
